The discontent and the complaints were already there. Americans were not happy with what was going on in our country; People were losing their jobs, the president was touting his $800B "stimulus", appointing his czars, and spouting about bailouts and healthcare for all. But the rumblings were still without form. Then on February 19, 2009, Rick Santelli made his now famous rant on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade which gave name to our feelings and the groundswell of Tea Party protests began, not in July but in April on TaxDay.
April 15, 2009, TaxDay - The Boerne T.E.A. Party Patriots rallied on the town square. Boerne folk had some rants of their own and T.E.A. had come to stand for Taxed Enough Already.
Boerne Patriots listened while others exercised their right of free speech and watched, waving their flags and hoisting their signs.
Then on the 4th of July weekend, 2009,
plenty of Americans were getting pretty hot, but not just because it was July. Another rally on the town square produced a lot of interest, many short speeches, a whole parade of protest signs and even a couple of horses.
In 2014, the debt is still rising, the Constitution continues to be trashed by the White House, we now have a terrible healthcare law, and our freedoms are being diminished daily. But the Boerne T.E.A. Party Patriots are as fired up as ever!
